You can check CrossOver’s “What runs” database to determine whether the game you want to run is compatible. They perform so well, I can’t tell that I’m not running a native Mac game. I personally run many games in CrossOver, such as PayDay 2, Fear 3 and Dawn of War II.
If no wrapper is available, you can simply direct CrossOver to your installer location, or install Steam in CrossOver and do it that way. Once installed, many games offer one-click install wrappers, which can be found on the CrossOver website. A two-week full trial is available, but after this you will need to purchase the software to continue using it. To get started, visit download a copy of CrossOver. Not every game will be compatible, but a great many are. The software is very easy to use and without the need to partition drives or go through complicated steps, so you can get your game on quickly. Outside of Boot Camp, this is probably your best option, and certainly the fastest.
